Urban Decay Naked2

I`ve been coveting this palette for years. Ever since I started reading beauty blogs and watching Youtube this has been number one on my list of products to try. Urban Decay launched in Norway on February 17, exclusively at Kicks.

The eyeshadows are pigmented and creamy, the colours are gorgeous. The only thing I wish for in this palette would be a few more matte shadows. I can`t wait to play more with this and try other products from Urban Decay.

Life changers – Clarins Rebalancing Oils

Having suffered with acne for many years I have tried a lot of products. Not until I tried plant based products from brands such as Decleor and Clarins did my skin settle down. Some of my favourite products are the Clarins Rebalancing Oils made from 100% pure plant extracts. The key ingredient in the oils is hazelnut oil, which is rich in anti-free radical vitamin E and nourishing fatty acids, which provides the skin with anti-aging and nutritive benefits.

During the harsh Norwegian winter months I go for the Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil for dehydrated skin. The oil contains extracts of Rosewood, Patchouli and Blue Orchid which help to tone, revitalise and restore radiance to dehydrated skin. When I use this product I can see a real difference in my skin, the sebum production is reduced, the texture of the skin is more even and it looks radiant and healthier.

In the warmer months when my skin feels more clogged and oily I go for the Lotus Face Treatment Oil for oily to combination skin. Containing a blend of Rosemary, Geranium and Lotus extract the oil purifies, tightens pores and refines the skin texture while leaving it moisturised. This might be my all time favourite skincare product, and a life- or at least skin- changer. Spots disappear quicker, my pores look smaller, my blackheads and whiteheads diminish and the skin looks clear and fresh without being oily.

I apply the oils each night on a clean face under my night crème. I find that the oils are too heavy to sit under makeup. The oils feel luxurious on the skin and have a wonderful but not overpowering scent; I like to take the time to massage them into the face and neck for well being.

This will be my last rave on Clarins – at least for a little while – such a good brand.

Clarins Garden Escape Make-up Collection Spring 2015

Two of the releases I was most excited for this spring were part of the Clarins Garden Escape Spring 2015 collection.

First on my list was the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector. It promises to be moisturising, plumping, radiance-boosting and comfortable. With their new release Clarins promises a new texture in lip makeup. It is available in 6 different shades; 01 rose, 02 coral, 03 my pink, 04 orange, 05 red and 06 rosewood. The packaging is very sleek and luxurious with a nice design and small size.

I love this product, it is a new everyday staple in my bag. My lips feel soft, moisturised and plumper. The colour 01 rose is a “my lips but better” pink, and leaves the lips looking shiny and plumper. It does not cling to dry patches on the lips like many other lip Products and has a very nice sweet scent. It truly perfects the lips. It is easy to apply, even without a mirror and glides smoothly over the lips. When I want to be a bit more adventurous I go for the shade 05. I am a little afraid of the matt red lip, but wish I could pull it off. If I want to channel my inner Taylor Swift I go for this shade. It is an easy to wear sheer red lip balm that gives me that little extra, without having to worry about my lipstick smudging all over my lips, or unappealing dry patches.

Second on my list was the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil. With ingredients of hazelnut, mirabelle and organic jojoba oils the product promises to bring nutrition, comfort and a soothing effect to the lips. The oil leaves a shiny film on the lips without being oily or sticky. Permanent to the collection is the colour honey which has a sweet honey taste as well as a nice fragrance. The limited edition colour Raspberry has a very fruity fragrance, but no taste.

One of the nicest things about this product is the packaging, it comes with a large sponge applicator that feels soft on the lips and covers them with product in one motion. Despite its delicious and fruty fragrance the product does not taste good. This annoys me, and takes some pleasure out of wearing the product. The product leaves an oily residue which clings to the tongue. The product feels comforting and soothing on the lips and they feel well nourished long after use, but the taste is a deal breaker for me. I chose the limited edition raspberry. I regret not picking up the honey version which promises a sweet honey taste, maybe I would have liked the product if it had a more pleasant taste. Another minus us the colour, which is why I chose the raspberry edition in the first place, it is not pigmented enough to show on the lips.

Current Obsessions

Carven L`eau de Toilette is my new signature scent. It was love at first sight. It is described as having notes of peony which makes the scent very fresh, freesia which gives it a touch of floral scent and white musk which gives the scent a musky, soft and creamy final note. This is a fresh and light everyday scent that I think will appeal to many women. The elegant bottle will look good on any vanity table, and the 30 ml is perfect for your bag.

After countless recommendations from the blogosphere I finally caved in and bought Clarins Instant Concealer in 01. And boy did it change the appearance of the grocery bags under my eyes. This concealer brightens the area, but at the same time it offers a decent amount of coverage. I have a problem with under eye creasing, this does not crease on me as long as I set it with powder.

A new luxury item in my beauty bag is the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder in no 20. The packaging is stunning; the compact comes with a large mirror inside and a decent brush. The product itself is a lightweight powder that disappears into the skin and leaves you with a healthy glowing radiance. This is a perfect travel companion when your complexion is in need of refreshing.

I have a slight obsession with pink nude lips as we are fast approaching spring. The Maybelline Color Elixirs was a pleasant surprise, seeing as I am not a lip gloss girl. It is comfortable on the lips without being too sticky and has a really nice smell. I have colour 100 petal plush (105 on the Norwegian market). Last years favourite has made a reappearance, the Dior Color Reviver Balm reacts with the chemistry of your lips to create your perfect pink pout. I find the almost more waxy consistency of this product really nice, it feels hydrating on the lips and stays on a long time. This year’s favourite is by far the Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector. The balms are creamy and hydrating on the lips, and are a new everyday staple with the “your lips but better” look. Stay tuned for an in depth review of the Clarins Summer 2015 lip product releases.
